Part-time work rules

International students with a Type D visa and Permesso di Soggiorno can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours during vacations. A written employment contract is mandatory. Part-time wages typically range from €7 to €12 per hour.

Post-Study Work Visa

After graduation, students can extend their residence permit for up to 12 months (Permesso di Soggiorno per ricerca lavoro) to look for work or start a company. This extension is applicable to those who have completed a Master’s or PhD. Once a job is found, the permit can be converted to a work permit.

Exam Requirements
