Part-Time Work Rules

International students on a Student visa (Tier 4) can work up to 20 hours per week during term time. During official vacation periods (Christmas, Easter, and summer breaks), students are allowed to work full-time with no hour restrictions. Students must ensure their work does not interfere with their studies. Self-employment and freelancing are generally not permitted on a Student visa.

Post-Study Work Visa

The Graduate Route visa allows international students to stay and work in the UK for 2 years after completing their degree (3 years for PhD graduates). No sponsorship is required for this visa, and students can work in any job at any skill level. After this period, students can switch to a Skilled Worker visa if they find eligible employment with a licensed sponsor.
