International students in Australia can work up to 48 hours per fortnight (2 weeks) during their study period. During scheduled course breaks, there are no restrictions on work hours – students can work full-time. Students on a master’s by research or doctoral degree have unlimited work hours. Work rights begin from the course start date mentioned on the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

Post-Study Work Visa

The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) allows graduates to live and work in Australia after completing their studies. The duration depends on the qualification level and location: Bachelor/Masters by coursework get 2 years; Masters by research get 3 years; Doctoral degree holders get 4 years. Studying and working in regional Australia can provide additional years on the visa.
