Part-time work rules

International students can work up to 15 hours per week during semesters and full-time during breaks. However, non-EU students can only start working after living in Switzerland for 6 months. A work permit must be requested by the employer from the cantonal authorities.

Post-Study Work Visa

Graduates can stay in Switzerland for up to 6 months after completing their degree to look for a job. The job must be highly qualified and in the public interest. Once a job offer is received, the employer must prove that no Swiss or EU candidate could fill the role (labor market testing).
